Health Certificates for International Travel

Our veterinarians are USDA certified and qualified to get the proper documentation required for you to travel. Please feel free to call us at (215) 995-4049 if you have any questions throughout this process.

An established care appointment is required prior for completion of a health certificate and to ensure your pet is well enough to travel.

Step 1:

The doctor will complete the health certificate after the initial exam, and then it will be submitted electronically to the USDA for endorsement. This is typically a 2 appointment process!

**Due to high volume at the USDA, it can take up to 3-5 business days for the USDA to review & endorse documents.**

Step 2:

Once completed, they will return the endorsed certificate back to us via UPS next day air, and we will contact you for pick up. Most countries require the exam to be performed 10 to 14 days prior to the flight, though this can vary; it will be important for us to schedule the health certificate appointment with these deadlines in mind.

If there is a connecting flight in another country, there may be additional requirements and/or you may need a second health certificate for that country. In addition, airlines may have separate and additional requirements, so we recommend checking with your airline to determine what requirements they may also have, if any.

Before Your Visit

Step 1: Complete Husbandry Form

Please complete the required husbandry form before your appointment.

This form is essential for assessing your pet’s environment, habits, and health. Completing it in advance helps speed up check-in and ensures we’re fully prepared for your pet’s needs. Click the species link below to access the form.

Step 2: Do Your Research

There is a number of preparation work and research needed when traveling to any country. You can follow the link below to see what is required for import and export depending on the species of your pet and the destination country.

Step 3: Complete The Health Certificate Form

We will need this information in order to send you an estimate for the cost of the upcoming visit, as this will vary based on the requirements set by the countries of import, export, and the airline.
